"Scientists That Elevate Me has been a phenomenal resource to the Chicago State Center for Science Education Research (CSER). The team has not only helped our students grow their network, but also has expanded the CSER's team network as well. The Speaker Series (2024) in particular helped students get in touch with scientists who were willing to openly share not only their successes, but also their tribulations in a very candid manner. These scientists proved to be a great resource to not only the student, but to the CSER team in expanding our network of potential speakers for future collaborations. " - Dr. Chris Botanga, PI ILSAMP, Chicago State University
"Dr. Bryson came to talk to our group of students who were participating in a preparatory experience for undergraduate students wanting to get into undergraduate research. She provided an engaging workshop where our students learned about the importance of mentorship in STEM, choosing mentors, and the various roles that mentors can play in a students' journey from their education and into their careers. In a short amount of time, Dr. Bryson was able to develop rapport and trust in the space, facilitating meaningful and impactful discussion that will aid our participants as they navigate the STEM landscape going forward. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Scientists That Elevate Me to continue providing students in our various programs with quality experiences related to their success in STEM." Dr. Jenny Ruble - Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, Sarasota Florida
"Scientists that Elevate Me (S.T.E.M.) has given me the incredible opportunity to share my journey through science and introduce "the pivot" to many students, even while I was still in graduate school. S.T.E.M. has supported my attendance at conferences, nominated me to give keynote speeches to young women of color, and set me up to provide mentorship to both graduate and undergraduate students. Working with S.T.E.M. has allowed me to highlight the value of every experience, both in and out of the classroom. Every opportunity to network is a good one, and it's essential to always put your best foot forward. Finally, I find it deeply fulfilling to empower the next generation by opening gates to information that were closed to me at their stage." Dr. Robyn Esponiza
" I was fortunate to work with STEM a few years ago. My experience with this organization was nothing short of fantastic. This company brings relatable science to young students from many backgrounds. The information that is imparted on this audience I believe truly enriches their understanding of opportunities available in science. It would be an honor to work with STEM again." - Dr. Lucinda Boyd, LS PAC MODELS, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge Louisiana
"I consider Scientist That Elevate Me to be a one stop shop that shares information about mentoring, networking and research opportunities. They are “all inclusive” meaning opportunities are shared across all career stages ranging from high school to post doc. I personally learned of a workshop for building future faculty in STEM from Scientists That Elevate Me to help propel my post doctoral career. On the other hand I also learned of an amazing opportunity for my undergraduate mentee to present her research in another country!" - Dr. Diandra Taylor Vavel
"For the past 10 years, it has been a true pleasure partnering with Dr. Bryson and the Scientists That Elevate Me team to bring engaging and meaningful learning experiences to the LSAMP community. Whether through interactive in-person networking sessions or dynamic virtual workshops, their efforts have consistently received glowing feedback from both students and faculty on our post-event surveys." - Deb Cole, Program Manager, Louis Stokes Midwest Regional Center of Excellence, Indianapolis Indiana
